Self Insuring Makes Sense

It was not long ago that mainline carriers would not offer self insured (or ASO) contracts to companies unless they had at least 200-300 employees. Today TPA's and even mainline carriers are offering ASO contracts to companies with as few as 20 employees. If is important that all of the risks are fully understood before moving into an ASO arrangement. It is definately a trend that has gained momementum in the past few years and appears to not be slowing down.
